Personal Statement

My work as a social worker is both guided and enhanced by personal trauma, and the growth that one can experience afterwards. The too-soon loss of my father and both grandfathers shaped my passion for social work, particularly with families and children in crisis. These experiences also demonstrate my ability to bring compassion and empathy my desired work. I recently explored career options outside of social work, which only strengthened my devotion to a career in this field and an unfettered belief that I am highly suited to this intense work environment. Ultimately, my commitment to social work is unrivaled and guides my unwavering desire to positively affect the lives of families and children in need.
